Abstract
Kata Kunci: Be My Eyes; teknologi asistif; kemandirian This research aims to explore the use of the Be My Eyes application in supporting independent access to visual information for totally blind students at SLBN-A Citeureup Cimahi. The research uses a qualitative approach with an exploratory design. Furthermore, data was obtained through semi-structured interviews with five totally blind students who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Then the data was analyzed thematically through a process of transcription, coding, grouping themes, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the Be My AI feature is more dominantly used than volunteer assistance because it is considered faster, more comfortable, efficient and maintains privacy. The main obstacles lie in camera direction, accuracy of object capture, internet connection, and possible inaccuracies in descriptions. Be My Eyes helps students access photos, documents, posters, announcements and objects around them more independently. However, human validation is still necessary for important information or situations that require high accuracy. Keywords: Be My Eyes; assistive technology; independence
