Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of work shifts and workload on workplace accidents among production employees in the finishing division at PT. Budi Agung Sentosa. This study used a quantitative descriptive approach, with data obtained through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The total population, which also served as the research sample, consisted of 55 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25 statistical software. The results of the descriptive analysis indicate that all variables have relatively high average scores. Furthermore, the findings indicate a significant relationship between the independent and dependent variables. The significance value for the work shift variable confirms the acceptance of the first hypothesis (H1), indicating that work shifts significantly influence workplace accidents. Similarly, the second hypothesis (H2) regarding workload is also accepted, indicating that workload significantly influences workplace accidents. The results of the simultaneous significance test (F-test) indicate that the hypotheses are accepted, indicating that work shifts and workload collectively have a significant impact on workplace accidents. In addition, the Adjusted R Square value shows that work accidents can be explained by work shift and workload variables, while the remaining variance is caused by other factors not explored in this study.
